Definitely Inspiration

I imagine every creative person who puts themselves out into the world, exposing their rawness, their innermost sensibilities, has tremendous trepidation at times. Picasso, Pollack, and even Frida Kahlo, must have felt this mad and inspired, equally and simultaneously, cowering as their self-portraits and angry expressions came to life.

This morning, upon awakening was one of those days.

At first, I was tired from a night filled with scary physical sensations, then I was angry about people I only imagine are fighting against me, then I sat down at my computer and haven’t moved except for a glass of lime juice, a couple bites of dark chocolate and a green smoothie.

I am akin to an explorer at the helm of an unruly square rigger going upwind in high seas! Destination unknown, I rigorously and fearlessly turn the wheel, pushing, praying as the bow cuts through the massive waves. Immediately spun downwind and broaching hard, the boat lurches while negative thoughts are thrown overboard only to monkey their way up and over the gunnels again, soaking wet and heavy.

No small matter, I slice them clean through with my sword, turning into the wind again, holding course, steady as she goes.
